Autumn Accents Photo Easel Card

Yesterday I shared a project using the Autumn Accents Bigz Die and the Faux Fossil Technique. Todays project uses more of the beautiful leaves created with this fun technique.
First off...isn't this little guy adorable!? My Mom adopted this sweet kitten last month and she's just in love. So I made her this easel card to display one of the photos I took of Benny.

I started with a sheet of 12x12 Early Espresso Card Stock and cut it to 6 -1/2" x 12". Score it at 4" and again at 8". This will form your easel base, better shown in this photo.
The Cajun Craze mat was cut at 6 -1/2" x 4-1/2" and then wheeled with the Timber wheel inked in Cajun Craze. Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon was attached behind photo with the intention of adhering a bow. However, once complete I didn't like how the bow looked so I left it off. The photo was matted onto a piece of Early Espresso card stock with a thin border and then adhered to base with Stampin' Dimensionals. Here's a closer look of the base.
I still had some Brushed Bronze Buttons (retired) in my stash and found that one of the beautiful Antique Brads fit perfectly inside. I just fed the prongs through the button holes and used some Glue Dots to hold it in place. If you want to learn more about how to create these leaves, scroll down to my last post where I tell how these were colored and you will find a link for step by step instructions.

Since kitty cats are part of todays topic, I thought I'd share a funny photo of my "little" guy Stevie.
He looked so comfy curled up on my rocker yesterday when I walked past with my camera I had to stop for a few shots. I caught him here in mid yawn but it looks like he's having a good laugh.

Hope your day is filled with laughter!
