Delightful Pretty Kitty

Today is a gloomy, stormy Monday here in Michigan. Good news is that it's supposed to be mid 40's which is basically a heatwave for this time of year! Bad news is that it looks like instead of the sun we will be seeing lots of rain. Wah, wah! It's melting all the snow to reveal the drab brown grass and muddy roads...blah! So, how do I beat the Winter blues...in my studio playing with bright colors and Springy, floral products, accompanied by good music!

I think you will agree that this cheerful card using one of the adorable images from Pretty Kitty along with Delightful Daisy DSP looks very happy and Spring-like!

I colored this kitty to look like my Mom's cat because this card is for her. I used my Aqua Painter along with colors of Classic Ink to coordinate with the DSP. I did use the black Watercolor Pencil as well to color the kitty. You cannot tell from the photo, but I used Wink of Stella to add some shimmer to the flowers.

I just love watercoloring the sweet kitty images in the Pretty Kitty stamp set! A while back, I even created a tutorial that takes you step by step watercoloring each image to create a set of cards...if you are interested you can purchase it here.

You can't give a card with a naked envelope, right?!

I used the flowers from the Bloomin' Love set to add a floral design to the envelope. Have a delightful day!

Up & Away Pretty Kitty

I love being able to combine favorite stamp sets to make something unique...so when I found that the flower pot kitty image from Pretty Kitty would work with the Up & Away Thinlits Dies I was "on cloud nine!" (to quote one of the sentiment stamps from the coordinating Lift Me Up stamp set!)

I stamped the kitty onto Shimmery White Card stock and cut away the flowers. Then I stamped the flower pot onto Falling In Love DSP hoping to make it look more like a basket rather than a flower pot. The pieces were then water colored using my Aqua Painter and the pot was paper pieced onto the Shimmery White layer.  The little banner was cut using the Balloon Framelits Dies. I had hoped to stamp "HELLO" using my Labeler stamp set, but the letters were too big, so I wrote it myself using my Sweet Sugarplum Marker.

For Flashback Friday I used the retired Cloudy Day Embossing Folder for the background. Too bad it's retired because it goes perfectly with the Lift Me Up Bundle!

Have an uplifting weekend!

Peekaboo Kitty

Just peeking in to say hello with an adorable Pretty Kitty card for you. I just LOVE this sweet kitty image...it's so much fun to watercolor!

I used my Aqua Painter and various inks pooled in the lids of my stamp pads...being sure to pick up the colors of the card stock I used: Flirty Flamingo, Dapper Denim and Peekaboo Peach. I love the look of pairing up the Lovely Lace Embossing Folder along with the Delicate White Doilies, as they coordinate so nicely together. To finish off my card I used some of the gorgeous Dapper Denim Ruched Ribbon.

This week at Global Design Project Challenge Blog the theme is to use animals and pets..so I think Pretty Kitty will fit right in!

I hope you are inspired to get out your favorite animal stamps and play along this week. If you need further inspiration when using your Pretty Kitty stamp set...I have created a 17 page tutorial which will take you step by step to watercolor each image and create a beautiful card with your colored images. Blooms & Bliss Pretty Kitty

I received my first order from the new catalog yesterday! It's always so much fun getting any order...but the new catalog ones are the BEST! Maybe because it's close to my birthday and I always splurge a little bit...because hey, it's my birthday. right?!

After I unpacked my order, I shot a little video which I posted on my LW Designs Facebook Page. Go on over and check it out...and please like my page if you haven't already. Making videos isn't something I normally do, I'm not at all comfortable with it (which I'm sure you can tell! lol)  I thought I'd challenge myself and give it a try. It really is difficult! Speaking of challenges...here's a card I created with two challenges in mind.

The images in the Pretty Kitty set are just adorable so I had to play with it first. I've been waiting a very long time for a super cute cat or puppy set from Stampin' Up! This year we got both! I will have a card to share next time using Bella & Friends...so make sure to check back soon!

I used this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch for my card. Also, over at Global Design Project the theme this week is Get Well Soon.

I used Wink of Stella on the butterflies and flowers after watercoloring with my Aqua Painter. Here's a closer looks...

The Designer Series Paper is the new Blooms & Bliss. I love the soft watercolor feel and the colors used in these papers. I chose this pack of DSP and a Christmas themed one called This Christmas. Here's a little look at both of them...
Here's another look at all the goodies in my first new catalog order.
If you stop by my Facebook Page leave me a comment letting me know what you would like to see me use next. I LOVE them all...so it's hard to decide!

Have a great weekend!
