Spooky Fun Double Z Card

I've been seeing lots of double z fold cards on Pinterest recently and there was one in particular using the Santa's Sleigh stamp set and thinlits that blew me away. I don't have the Santa's Sleigh set, but after seeing that card I was inspired to use my Spooky Fun stamps and Halloween Scenes Edgelits to create a Halloween double z card.

I started off by sponging a spooky sunset skyline onto Whisper White cardstock using Elegant Eggplant, Rich Razzleberry, Night of Navy, and Pumpkin Pie inks. I knew I wanted a full moon as a focal point, so before I began sponging I punched out a 1-1/4 circle from a post it note to use as a mask. After I was done with my background, I removed the circle and replaced it with the square post it note with the circle punched out, carefully lining the circles up. Then I sponged the inside of the circle with Crushed Curry.

It folds up nicely to fit inside a standard sized envelope which is nice.

Here's another look at the card opened up. The trio of ghosts are embossed in White Embossing Power.

All the supplies I used to create this card can be found in the Holiday Catalog, including:

  • Spooky Fun stamp set (142236)*
  • Halloween Scenes Edgelits (141842)*
  • Halloween Night Baker's Twine (142027)
  • Halloween Night Enamel Dots (142025)

*Both the stamp set and edgelits can be purchased as a bundle (144337) to save 10%.

If you would like to see the Santa's Sleigh z fold card that inspired this card, you can see it here. Thank you for the inspiration Chloe!

Thanks for visiting today...have a wicked good weekend!

Merry Mice Singing in the Snow

The stamp set Merry Mice is just the cutest! I've paired up this adorable set with the This Christmas Specialty Paper for today's card.

The snowflake design sheet of DSP is black and whte, so I chose to add some color by sponging on Soft Sky, Marina Mist & Night of Navy. I did the same with the music sheet banner as well...only there I used Garden Green.

For a little added bling I die cut a banner and border from Silver Shimmer Paper using the Flourish Thinlits. I also added some Fancy Frost Sequins. The little mouse's song book was stamped twice, cut out and popped up for dimension.

Autumn Jar of Love

YES! I think I am FINALLY back on track after my computer crash! I had an issue re-loading my old Photoshop program on my new computer, and that was how I edited all my photos before uploading them here. After creating a card and photographing it, it needed to be re-sized and my watermark added, so I had to spend some time learning how to do that with my new photo editing software. Now that I have figured it out, it's actually much simpler than before! Go figure! Anyways...hopefully I'm back to posting more regurlarly again.

This card using Jar of Love will brighten someones day for sure. With the Pumpkin Pie flowers and the rustic wood and knitted textures from the Serene Scenery DSP Stack it is perfect for this time of year. The background behind the jar also has some subtle texture from the Ghoulish Grunge stamp set. If you love textures, then you need to add this set to your collection! As you can see, its not just for Halloween.

Thanks for visiting...have a beautiful day!

A Birthday Balloon for Wyatt

The Labeler Alphabet is great for creating personalized cards. Here I used it along wit this adorable image from Bella & Friends for a cute birthday card for my little nephew.

I also created a second card to keep on hand. It can be left as is...maybe add a few enamel dots across bottom right or add a suitable greeting when needed.

Colors used are: Pool Party, Real Red, Bermuda Bay & Pear Pizzazz. The Confetti Embossing Folder was used on the background, and Layering Oval Dies to die cut the the three ovals.

Have a beautiful day!

Flourish Leaves

Here's another card which uses the fantastic Serene Scenery Stack of DSP.

I die cut a set of 3 leaves...Delightful Dijon, Always Artichoke & Cajun Craze, using the Flourish Thinlits Dies.

The inside of the card uses a strip of DSP that I trimmed off to size it for the card front. Doesn't get much easier than that!

To see all the fabulous patterns in this stack, check out this post.

Serene Thoughts

I've had a very eventful past week! I knew I would be busy with baby shower preparations so I had cards photographed and edited and ready to upload here so I'd be able to keep up with my blog postings...BUT my ailing, old computer had other ideas...it crashed! :-(

We got a new computer, but I've had to go through the tedious task of setting everything up...and I'm not the best with computers! Somehow I've managed to get most everything back and functioning. It looks like all my photos and documents are still here...so that is good! I was worried about that! Anyways...here's one of the cards I intended to share with you last week.

This card used one of my favorite sheets of DSP from the Serene Scenery Paper Stack. All I had to do to create this beautiful card was stamp the sentiment from the Thoughts & Prayers set. I had intended on using some sort of ribbon or other embellishment but I rather liked it as is. Doesn't get much easier than that!

I shared photos of all the beautiful papers in this stack in my last post. Check it out here

Vintage Leaves with Serene Scenery

Have you seen all the gorgeous papers that are in the Serene Scenery Paper Stack? It's so hard to tell just by viewing the tiny swatches in the catalog. Here's a look at the beautiful textures and scenery in this 6x6 stack. (click on image to see them enlarged)

The flip side has patterns in coordinating colors.
It's so easy to create beautiful cards in a snap using these papers! Yesterday I was in need of several cards and I whipped them up in a flash using these papers. Here's one of the cards...
This weathered wood background is one of my favorites in the stack! I used the Vintage Leaves and Flourishing Phrases stamp sets embossed in Copper Embossing Powder. After embossing and die cutting the leaves I sponged on some color to make the leaves look more like Autumn leaves.

To finish off the card I used some Linen & Metallic Copper Threads tied in a loopy bow. On the inside I used a piece of the DSP along the bottom that I trimmed off the 6x6 piece to fit my card front.
Check back to see the other cards I created with these papers. Have a beautiful day!

Sweet Little Baby Bear

This past few weeks I've had two different sets of invitations to design and stamp. That has kept me pretty busy! Since they are now complete and have been mailed, I can finally share them here! I used the adorable Baby Bear stamp set to create these baby shower invitations.

Since I had to make 42 of them, and each bear consists of three layers, that means I had to stamp that bear 126 times! It's OK though, because it was a labor of love...these baby shower invitations are for the shower of my first grandchild!

I didn't want to have to hand cut the cute bow that comes with the set, so I opted for a flower that could be stamped and punched instead. I used the retired set Punch Potpourri for the flower stamped in Strawberry Slush. The photo above shows my finished sample card, the stamped bears and the rest of the cut supplies to start assembling the invitations.

I cut the Tea Lace Doilies into pieces to add to the bottom of each stamped bear. I was able to get 3 pieces from each doily. I started off using the new Delicate Doilies, but then I remembered I had a whole pack of the older ones so I decided to use those up.
After adding the doily to the bottom of each bear I adhered it onto the Pink Pirouette embossed panel. I used an Anna Griffin embossing folder that I've had for quite some time. It was perfect because it has tiny little doily shapes on it. The next step was to add some Strawberry Slush Bakers Twine...using up some more retired product!
After adhering the card front to a Thick Whisper White base, baby bear was embellished with the flower and small rhinestone center on her head and a small bow tied with the bakers twine. Above is a shot of the completed set.

Lovely Pine Thank You

Happy Friday with a long weekend ahead! That's the good news...bad news is Summer of 2016 will be behind us after this weekend. Where did it go!? With school starting and Fall approaching it is time to be thinking of the upcoming Holidays. Stampin' Up! has them all covered in the new Holiday Catalog! Todays card combines some new favorite products with a long time (very long time!) favorite...Lovely as a Tree to create a quick thank you card.

The Mint Macaron background is embossed with the new Pine Bough Embossing Folder. The sentiment from the Flourishing Phrases set is heat embossed in Copper Embossing Powder. The pine cone is cut from the new Copper Foil Sheets using the Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies.

Thanks for visiting...enjoy your weekend!
