We went to our nephew's graduation party yesterday and this is the card I made for him. I recently saw this cool design to create a gift card holder on another blog and wanted to try it. It has a pocket on the inside to hold a gift card, or in this case cash or check. I changed the dimensions of this card a bit from the original so that it fit in a standard envelope. Here is how it looks opened:
The Word Window punch was used to create the notch that slides into the slot to keep the card closed. Isn't that a great idea!? Click here if you want to see the super cute original card along with directions. For my altered version, keep in mind that I started with a 12 x 4-1/4" base which I scored at 2" & 7 -1/4". To make the pocket a little deeper to hold cash or check rather than a gift card, I also added a 2" x 4-1/2" piece of card stock (the Eggplant with the 1/2 circle notch cut out)
I thought the quote used here from the Live Your Dreams set was perfect for a graduate. The dotted journaling stamp from that set was also used to create the lines of the "notebook paper".
Stamps: Tassel Time, Live Your Dreams & Typeset Numbers
Ink: Summer Sun & Elegant Eggplant
Card stock: Summer Sun & Elegant Eggplant
Accessories: Word Window, Spiral, 1-3/8" circle punches
