Creepy Crawly Halloween

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Today I have a creepy crawly, yet cute Halloween card using several items available from the 2016 Holiday Catalog.

Even if you dislike spiders, you have to admit these spiders made using Halloween Night Enamel Dots are more cute than creepy. I started by stamping the web image from Spooky Fun across the top of my Whisper White card stock using Black Archival Ink. Then I stamped the little spiders as they creeped down from their web.

Using Elegant Eggplant, I sponged over the Whisper White card stock. The enamel dots were added on top of the stamped spiders and then I used a fine point permanent black marker to add their eyes. Here's a closer look...

The Pumpkin Pie card base was stamped using the brick wall image from the Ghoulish Grunge stamp set. This is a great set which can add texture to your creations all year...not just for Halloween. To add a little sparkle, I added a strip of Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Paper across the bottom and finished with some Halloween Night Bakers Twine.

Have a SPOOKTACULAR day!

Merry Mice This Christmas

Just love those Merry Mice! Especially this guy with is decorated pine bough...so cute!

These little guys are fun to watercolor! I used my Aqua Painter and various inks to coordinate with my card stock and DSP. I stamped the Cherry Cobbler layer with one  of the pretty images from Peace This Christmas stamp set and used strips of DSP from the This Christmas Specialty Paper.

Peekaboo Kitty

Just peeking in to say hello with an adorable Pretty Kitty card for you. I just LOVE this sweet kitty image...it's so much fun to watercolor!

I used my Aqua Painter and various inks pooled in the lids of my stamp pads...being sure to pick up the colors of the card stock I used: Flirty Flamingo, Dapper Denim and Peekaboo Peach. I love the look of pairing up the Lovely Lace Embossing Folder along with the Delicate White Doilies, as they coordinate so nicely together. To finish off my card I used some of the gorgeous Dapper Denim Ruched Ribbon.

This week at Global Design Project Challenge Blog the theme is to use animals and pets..so I think Pretty Kitty will fit right in!

I hope you are inspired to get out your favorite animal stamps and play along this week. If you need further inspiration when using your Pretty Kitty stamp set...I have created a 17 page tutorial which will take you step by step to watercolor each image and create a beautiful card with your colored images. Spooky Fun Double Z Card

I've been seeing lots of double z fold cards on Pinterest recently and there was one in particular using the Santa's Sleigh stamp set and thinlits that blew me away. I don't have the Santa's Sleigh set, but after seeing that card I was inspired to use my Spooky Fun stamps and Halloween Scenes Edgelits to create a Halloween double z card.

I started off by sponging a spooky sunset skyline onto Whisper White cardstock using Elegant Eggplant, Rich Razzleberry, Night of Navy, and Pumpkin Pie inks. I knew I wanted a full moon as a focal point, so before I began sponging I punched out a 1-1/4 circle from a post it note to use as a mask. After I was done with my background, I removed the circle and replaced it with the square post it note with the circle punched out, carefully lining the circles up. Then I sponged the inside of the circle with Crushed Curry.

It folds up nicely to fit inside a standard sized envelope which is nice.

Here's another look at the card opened up. The trio of ghosts are embossed in White Embossing Power.

All the supplies I used to create this card can be found in the Holiday Catalog, including:

  • Spooky Fun stamp set (142236)*
  • Halloween Scenes Edgelits (141842)*
  • Halloween Night Baker's Twine (142027)
  • Halloween Night Enamel Dots (142025)

*Both the stamp set and edgelits can be purchased as a bundle (144337) to save 10%.

If you would like to see the Santa's Sleigh z fold card that inspired this card, you can see it here. Thank you for the inspiration Chloe!

Thanks for visiting today...have a wicked good weekend!

Merry Mice Singing in the Snow

The stamp set Merry Mice is just the cutest! I've paired up this adorable set with the This Christmas Specialty Paper for today's card.

The snowflake design sheet of DSP is black and whte, so I chose to add some color by sponging on Soft Sky, Marina Mist & Night of Navy. I did the same with the music sheet banner as well...only there I used Garden Green.

For a little added bling I die cut a banner and border from Silver Shimmer Paper using the Flourish Thinlits. I also added some Fancy Frost Sequins. The little mouse's song book was stamped twice, cut out and popped up for dimension.

Autumn Jar of Love

YES! I think I am FINALLY back on track after my computer crash! I had an issue re-loading my old Photoshop program on my new computer, and that was how I edited all my photos before uploading them here. After creating a card and photographing it, it needed to be re-sized and my watermark added, so I had to spend some time learning how to do that with my new photo editing software. Now that I have figured it out, it's actually much simpler than before! Go figure! Anyways...hopefully I'm back to posting more regurlarly again.

This card using Jar of Love will brighten someones day for sure. With the Pumpkin Pie flowers and the rustic wood and knitted textures from the Serene Scenery DSP Stack it is perfect for this time of year. The background behind the jar also has some subtle texture from the Ghoulish Grunge stamp set. If you love textures, then you need to add this set to your collection! As you can see, its not just for Halloween.

Thanks for visiting...have a beautiful day!

A Birthday Balloon for Wyatt

The Labeler Alphabet is great for creating personalized cards. Here I used it along wit this adorable image from Bella & Friends for a cute birthday card for my little nephew.

I also created a second card to keep on hand. It can be left as is...maybe add a few enamel dots across bottom right or add a suitable greeting when needed.

Colors used are: Pool Party, Real Red, Bermuda Bay & Pear Pizzazz. The Confetti Embossing Folder was used on the background, and Layering Oval Dies to die cut the the three ovals.

Have a beautiful day!

Flourish Leaves

Here's another card which uses the fantastic Serene Scenery Stack of DSP.

I die cut a set of 3 leaves...Delightful Dijon, Always Artichoke & Cajun Craze, using the Flourish Thinlits Dies.

The inside of the card uses a strip of DSP that I trimmed off to size it for the card front. Doesn't get much easier than that!
