Wicked Wednesday: Starry Night Kitty

When I first saw the latest group of In Colors I couldn't wait to see the Halloween DSP! I thought for sure Tangelo Twist & Blackberry Bliss were going to be the main colors ...but unfortunately I was wrong. Oh well...with my ink & cardstock I can create my Halloween projects in any colors I would like...and I like me some purple!

I stamped these images from the Bite Me stamp set in Tuxedo Black onto Whisper White and then sponged on some Tangelo Twist & Blackberry Bliss. I love the Color Me Autumn Washi Tape in Blackberry Bliss...it adds a fun splash of pattern below the image. The Lucky Stars Embossing Folder adds the perfect background texture for this spooky card.

Thanks for visiting!

Wicked Wednesday - Bite Me Treat Bags

One more day left before the Trick-or-Treaters come looking for goodies! We live out in the boonies so we never get any kids that come to our house. Instead, I delivered some homemade treats yesterday.

I used the Blue Ribbon, Bite Me & Toil & Trouble stamp sets along with Witches' Brew papers to top off these cute chevron printed Tag a Bag Gift Bags.

I was able to fit a ziplock filled with 5 medium sized homemade peanut butter cookies into each bag.
The cookies are thick & chewy, so if you have a flatter cookie I think you could actually fit more of them inside the bag. Here's a closer look...
Another cute idea for the Bite Me set is to make cupcake picks...
You could also use the skull and crossbones from the Toil & Trouble set to do the same idea.

To purchase the Bite Me stamp set or any of the other products used here, please visit my online store.

Have a wicked sweet day!

Flipped Out Ghoul Friend

The past few days I've been having lots of fun playing with all my Halloween stamps...both new & retired. I made several fun Halloween cards using the Thinlits Label Flip Card Die. Check out this one I made for my great-nephew.

The super cute main image is from a retired set called Hey Ghoul Friend. The spooky tree is from the retired set House of Haunts, but the image (along with haunted house from same set) is available as part of the Best of Halloween set. (they are just smaller than original) The bats are from Halloween Backgrounds set (also retired) and the BOO! greeting is from the Bite Me Photopolymer set. Here's a closer look at the cute little pumpkin...
Here's the card as it starts to open...
I just love the spider web paper...it's from the Witches' Brew pack of DSP in this years Holiday Catalog. The Pumpkin & Razzleberry prints are from the retired Prints Stack. Here's the card as the label is flipped...

The Happy Halloween and the spiders stamped on the label are also from the Bite Me set.

I cannot wait to hear how my nephew liked this card once he receives it in the mail....I think these flip cards are especially fun for kids.

Wicked Wednesday - Monsters of Rock

Slash, Rob Zombie & Alice Cooper were all at our Halloween party in 2011...and here's the scrapbook page to prove it!

I used the Witches' Brew DSP from the Holiday Catalog to easily create this rockin' layout. The title was cut from Summer Starfruit card stock using the Typeset Bigz Alphabet and then I stamped it with the splotch stamp from the new photopolymer set Bite Me.
The black rhinestones swirls were available through SU! a few years back but are now retired. I'm glad I still have some of these in my stash as they worked out well on this page. I colored two large clear rhinestones orange using my sharpie markers for the skulls eyes. I also trimmed carefully around the top of the skull so my photo slid behind it.

Hope your day rocks!

Wicked Wednesday: Bite Me Flip Card

I've been seeing so many fun cards created with SU!'s new Thinlits Flip Card Dies that I finally decided I needed to get a set to try out for myself. I had a hard time deciding between the two sets offered, but ended up going with the Labels set first...mostly because I like the little added extras better than the ones included in the Circle set. (but who am I kidding...I'm sure I will be adding that one to my collection before too long as well!)

These flip cards are even easier to make than I had imagined and I've already been having lots of fun playing with these dies! I also just got the newly released Photopolymer set Bite Me. So here is my first creation using both of these items.

With all the Halloween sets I own, can you believe I don't have one with a large spider web?! So I was super excited to get this set just for that one image alone...but actually all the images are pretty useful. I especially like the splotch that I used here to create a background. Here's what the card looks like as you start to open it...
and here is is all the way opened...
I used a little trick when cutting the base for this card that created the extra panel on the end. (the one with the Summer Starfruit layer) Here's how to do that...
You still start with the same 1/2 sheet of card stock, but cut it just a sliver smaller...1/16th of an inch shy of the 5-1/2' measurement, which equals 5-7/16 inch wide. This enables you to easily pull the one end up and over the end of the Thinlit Die as shown above. So instead of cutting it as it goes through the Big Shot, it will create a crease...and that is where you will fold it.

The extra panel is perfect if you want to include a hand written message. Here's a better look at how I decorated the inside of the extended panel. (the other side is covered in Witches' Brew DSP as shown in 1st photo)
BEWARE...HEED MY WARNING!!!
Please be careful when using this stamp set if the sight of a spider freaks you out. While stamping this card I tested out a few of the stamps on scrap before I stamped them onto my card stock. Later when cleaning off my messy desk, I lifted some scraps and...
YIKES!!!! There was a spider on my desk!!! OK...so he doesn't look too huge, hairy & horrific in this photo, but in the brief second when I saw him "lurking" under my scraps, I have to admit I let out a loud scream!

So, I guess the TRICK was on me! Hope your day is filled with TREATS!
