Flippin' Friday - Daydream Medallion Boxed Set

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Yesterday I shared a cute box made with the Envelope Punch Board and promised I would be back today to share the set of cards that fit inside the box. So, here they are...

These 3 flip cards cut with the Circle Thinlit Die fit in the coordinating box along with three matching envelopes. They were quick and easy to make using the Daydream Medallion stamp set and the Floral Framelits.
The colors were chosen from the Quatrefancy Specialty Papers. The sentiments are from the Hostess Set Simply Sketched. They were punched out using the Large Oval Punch and matted onto one of the die cut pieces included in the Circle Thinlit set.You cannot tell so much from my photos, but the white 2 - 1/2" circle is embossed with the Modern Mosaic EF.

If you don't yet have the Floral are in luck! They are on sale right now as part of Stampin' Up!'s Weekly Deals.

If you are local and would like to make this set or a Christmas version, please contact me.

Enjoy your weekend!

Daydream Medallion Card Box

To all my visitors here in the USA...Happy Thanksgiving! On this day as we express gratitude for all the things we are thankful for, my list includes being fortunate enough to have the time to spend being creative and sharing what I love to do. I am also thankful for those who visit my blog, and to those who take the time to leave a comment of encouragement. I am also thankful to all the other creative people who inspire me and others by sharing their projects on blogs and on Pinterest. May you all have a wonderful day filled with family, good food, love and laughter!

Today I have a cute box that holds a set of cards to share with you.

It is quick & easy to create with the Envelope Punch Board. I decorated the box by stamping the delicate swirled image from Creative Elements. The belly band that keeps the box closed was also stamped using the border image from Creative Elements.

The layered flower is made using the Daydream Medallions set along with the coordinating Floral Framelits. Something else to be thankful for...the Floral Framelits are on SALE right now as part of Stampin' Up!'s Weekly Deals!

Here's a look at what the box looks like open...
and a little sneak peek to what's inside. You'll have to check back tomorrow to see the set of cards.

Don't forget to check out this weeks Weekly Deals to see the other items offered.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!

Autumn Accents Photo Easel Card

Yesterday I shared a project using the Autumn Accents Bigz Die and the Faux Fossil Technique. Todays project uses more of the beautiful leaves created with this fun technique.

First off...isn't this little guy adorable!? My Mom adopted this sweet kitten last month and she's just in love. So I made her this easel card to display one of the photos I took of Benny.

I started with a sheet of 12x12 Early Espresso Card Stock and cut it to 6 -1/2" x 12". Score it at 4" and again at 8". This will form your easel base, better shown in this photo.
The Cajun Craze mat was cut at 6 -1/2" x 4-1/2" and then wheeled with the Timber wheel inked in Cajun Craze. Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon was attached behind photo with the intention of adhering a bow. However, once complete I didn't like how the bow looked so I left it off. The photo was matted onto a piece of Early Espresso card stock with a thin border and then adhered to base with Stampin' Dimensionals. Here's a closer look of the base.
I still had some Brushed Bronze Buttons (retired) in my stash and found that one of the beautiful Antique Brads fit perfectly inside. I just fed the prongs through the button holes and used some Glue Dots to hold it in place. If you want to learn more about how to create these leaves, scroll down to my last post where I tell how these were colored and you will find a link for step by step instructions.

Since kitty cats are part of todays topic, I thought I'd share a funny photo of my "little" guy Stevie.
He looked so comfy curled up on my rocker yesterday when I walked past with my camera I had to stop for a few shots. I caught him here in mid yawn but it looks like he's having a good laugh.

Hope your day is filled with laughter!

Fossilized Autumn Wine Tag

Here is an idea for a nice way to present a bottle of wine to your hosts on Thanksgiving.

I die cut leaves from Very Vanilla card stock using the Autumn Accents Bigz Die. Then I used the Faux Fossil technique to add an interesting texture and color to the leaves. Read more about how to do the Faux Fossil Technique in this post.

After I "fossilized" my leaves, I could still see a lot of the vanilla card stock showing through, so I sponged on some color to make the leaves more vibrant. The Classic Inks I used are: Cherry Cobbler, Crushed CurryAlways Artichoke. After that I sponged Early Espresso onto the edges of all the leaves. Here's a closer look...

The little caps on the acorns were embossed using the Square Lattice EF. I think that adds a cute touch. After I had all leaves sponged as I wanted, I added a little shimmer to them with some Smooch Spritz.

The wide Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon is retired, but luckily I had some in my stash. The Burlap Ribbon from the Holiday Catalog would have been the perfect choice...but I didn't have any. "Happy Thanksgiving" is from the retired set Holidays & Wishes and is stamped on Cotton Ribbon.

I think this pretty autumn wine tag makes this nice bottle of wine even nicer. Thanks for visiting today...check back tomorrow for another project using the fossilized leaves.

Flippin' Friday - Fall Flip Card

Happy Friday everyone! Here's a couple of Fall Flip cards I made using the Label Card Thinlit Die and the ever versatile set Lovely As a Tree. This one is a thank you card, but it could just as easily work as a masculine birthday card or a Thanksgiving card as you will see in my other version below.

I randomly stamped the oak leaf image from this set (mask off the parts you don't want inked with post it notes) and then wheeled over the panel with the Timber wheel.
The panel on the right uses Early Espresso Core'dinations Card stock which I embossed using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder. The tree was colored with my Aqua Painter and various colors of Classic Ink.
This is the Thanksgiving version which has an extended panel.
The Charles Dickens quote was from the retired set Always Thankful. The embossed panel flips put for a larger space to write a message.
I just added a little interest with some stamped leaves in Crumb Cake and some Washi Tape from the Epic Day Collection.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Endless Wishes Happy Hour

Here's a card appropriate to share on "Thirsty Thursday". It's made using Happy Hour and the Endless Wishes Photopolymer set...which is super cute, and unfortunately officially sold out. All the photopolymer sets are only available for a limited time, and in this case it was so popular it sold out in record time.

The set came with three snowflake images and a large variety of phrases that can be mixed and matched. I used my largest Clear Mount Block F and arranged the snowflakes to create my own background stamp. It was easy to then stamp the Soft Sky layer with VersaMark and then emboss with White EP. The hardest part about this card was deciding which greeting to choose, so I did a variety...
It's hard to tell from the photo, but I used Crystal Effects on each glass to make it shiny.

Don't have any red rhinestones? Easy...color the clear ones with a sharpie marker like I did here. I used the Deco Labels Framelits to cut the Real Red mat for the image...and they're on SALE for 25% off right now during Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Sale!

Thanks for popping in today...wishing you good cheer!

Santa Baby

Last year about this time, my niece came over with her sweet little baby boy and we had fun doing a photo shoot marking his first Christmas. My great nephew is such a cutie and is so good that I was able to capture several good shots before he decided he was done. The Festive Flurry Stamp Set and coordinating Festive Flurry Framelits (say that three times fast!) are the perfect choice for scrapbooking these photos.

The overalls he was wearing were Basic Gray with a Pool Party striped shirt, so the the Winter Frost Specialty Paper went well. Since the background in the photos is black I decided it would be fun to create accents on the page using the chalk board technique. So I stamped these images onto Basic Black Card stock using White Craft Ink and sponged the edges in white as well. I hand lettered his name & date using the White Stampin' Chalk Marker and then filled in with various stamps (some retired) with the aid of my Stamp-a-ma-jig.

Here's a closer look at my favorite photo I took.
I stamped all the snowflakes in VersaMark and then embossed them in white on Real Red, Basic Gray and even Basic Black. Then for some added sparkle I die cut some flakes out of Silver Glimmer Paper and of course added Basic Rhinestone Jewels to the center of each snowflake.
The Merry Little Christmas stamp made a cute little chalkboard embellishment as did the word collage from retired set, Season of Joy. Here's a look at the two page layout.

Flippin' Fridays- Festive Flurry Flip

It's Friday again...that means it's time to share another fun flip card! After playing with the Label Thinlit Die and seeing how easy it is to create such quick & fun cards...I had to get the Circle Thinlit Die as well! Here's my first creation using the Circle Thinlit Die...

I was happy to find that the circle on the Thinlit base is a little bigger than the circle punched using the 2- 1/2" Circle Punch, so it layers nicely...leaving about an 1/8" border. See what I mean below...the DSP circle is punched out using the 2 -1/2" circle punch...that makes it so easy!

The Silver Shimmer Paper looks just beautiful die cut with the Festive Flurry Framelits! They also look beautiful embossed...I especially love them  in Silver EP, as shown here. They also look beautiful stamped on Whisper White card stock with Island Indigo ink, or on Pool Party card stock with Pool Party ink...are you starting to notice a pattern? LOL...OK, I admit it....I LOVE snowflakes and I especially love this set since it has the matching framelits!

Right now I am working on several scrapbook pages using them. I cannot wait to share them with you once they are completed. Maybe this weekend?

Thanks for visiting today...have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Candles

The Birthday Candles Jumbo Wheel makes it really easy to create a quick & fun birthday card! This one was created for my son, so I used masculine colors and went with Black Chevron Ribbon and a layered label as opposed to softer ribbon tied in a bow.

The label was created using two different stamp sets: Blue Ribbon and Four Frames. I layered punched shapes as shown below...
and finished off the label with a couple of Pear Pizzazz Candy Dots.

Masculine Thoughts & Prayers

One of the most elegant stamps sets in my collection, is Thoughts & Prayers. It's been a while since I've used it, and I thought it would be a nice choice to make a card for my uncle who just had surgery.

The tree image is perfect for either feminine or masculine cards depending on the colors and accessories used. The color combo I used: Always Artichoke, Early Espresso & Cajun Craze.

The Woodgrain Embossing Folder used with Early Espresso Core'dinations Card Stock makes a rustic looking background for the stamped tree. I also used the Timber Wheel to add a more subtle wood grain to the die cut Deco Label.

To set off the label and add more interest, I added some piercing and a little sponging. A row of Always Artichoke Candy Dots finish this off along the bottom.

Festive Mojo I am two days in a row!  I'm feeling much better after being sick most of the week, so I finally felt up to stamping. I saw this sketch on the Mojo Monday site earlier this week and this card popped into my mind almost immediately...I love it when that happens! (and then actually works out as planned!)

The photo is kind of washed out...but I'm far too lazy this afternoon to drag my behind back downstairs to try it again. (sorry!) The background is embossed with the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder and the two smallest snowflakes near the die cut one have a Basic Rhinestone in the looks kind of abstract in the photo because it's hard to see the embossed snowflakes...but trust me, they are there!

Most everything I used here can be found in the Holiday Catalog...such as the Festive Flurry Bundle (my absolute favorite from this Holiday Catalog!) Merry Little Christmas stamp set, the Silver 1/8" Ribbon and the Winter Frost Specialty Paper...which is just gorgeous paper!

Here's this weeks Mojo Monday sketch in case you want to play along too.

I hope you are enjoying the weekend and find some time to stamp too!

Flippin' Fridays - Flower Shop Flip Cards

OK...I can honestly say I've officially flipped over the new Thinlits Dies that make these super cute flip cards. It seems like these are the only cards I've been making lately! I just got the Circle one in my last order that came earlier this week, but I've been too sick to even play with my stuff. :-( Today I am feeling much better though, so I plan to have some fun stamping. First, I thought I had better update my blog since it's been a while and thought it would be fun to showcase a new flip card each for my first "Flippin' Friday" post I have several cards to share...all using the same design, but with different DSP and accents.

I love the color combo of Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Gumball Green & Daffodil Delight picked up from the Epic Day DSP.
The Subtles Candy Dots are the perfect accent to dot the "i" in "hi" and for the center of the flower. Here's a couple more variations of this card using the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set and coordinating Bitty Banners Framelits.

I told you I have been having fun with these! Here are a couple more cards using the same color combo but with the Quatrefancy Specialty DSP.

Helpful hint: When cutting out detailed peices such as the "hi" die cut shown above, use waxed paper in between the card stock and your thinlit die. It makes all the difference in the world when trying to remove it from the die after it's been cut.

Since Pool Party is such a light color, I used the Rock 'n Roll Technique on the stamped & punched flower. First, I inked it in Pool Party, then I rock 'n rolled it in Island Indigo so it would stand out more.

Hope you enjoy these flippin' fun cards! Have a GREAT weekend!

Mosaic Meadow

Here is a soft & pretty card created with the Wild Flower Meadow stamp, Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder & Quatrefancy Specialty Paper.

I stamped the image in White Craft Ink onto Crumb Cake card stock and then used my Aqua Painter & Classic Inks to color the image. It is a fun technique and the result is really soft & pretty.

Colors used: Strawberry Slush, Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder, Pistachio Pudding & Crumb Cake.

Thanks for visiting today.
