Flashback Friday: Honeycomb Cheep Talk

This week just flew by! Cannot believe it's already time to share another Flashback Friday project. I've been thinking that the adorable little bird from Honeycomb Happiness needed a little branch to sit on, so I dug out my retired Cheep Talk set...

Do you remember this set? So cute, right?! I love the sentiments that are curved to fit around the branch...which just happens to be the perfect perch for the Honeycomb Happiness bird.

Since the bird is an outline image that needs to be colored and the branch is a solid image, I outlined the branch after stamping it with the fine tip Project Life Journaling Pen. (I highly recommend these pens even if you don't scrapbook.) Outlining the branch makes it coordinate better with the line art image.

I also used the Bloomin' Love stamp set and Bloomin' Heart Thinlit Dies for the little flowers, which are popped up and added a Basic Rhinestone to the center.

I used 3 different prints from the Love Blossoms Paper Stack as well...this stack has such super cute patterns! I used one of my favorite retired punches...the Photo Corner Punch and Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon as well. Glad I have an extra roll of that in my stash!

Hello There Eastern Blooms!

It's definitely been a while since I've used my Eastern Blooms set, but I was inspired by some gorgeous card sets that my blogger friend Pat created, and decided that next time I stamped I was going to use that set. My inspiration for color and theme came from this Inkspiration Challenge. I love the colors...and of course the butterflies and flowers on this adorable bedding, so I had to play along.
Along with the Eastern Blooms set, I also used Cheep Talk & Flight of the Butterfly. I used some retired DP from the Holiday Treasures paper...love that little houndstooth print and that was the closest I had to a checked print like the quilt.

The Celery layer was embossed with the small dotted Texturz Plate and my Big Shot. The flowers and butterfly were all cut out and attached with pop dots. Colors used: Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery, Riding Hood Red & Tempting Turquoise.

Cheep Talk Trio

Here is another group of cards that everyone made at my all occasion card class this past weekend. As you can see, the Cheep Talk set is perfect to make a variety of cards just by changing up the images and sentiments a bit. I even dug out the sentiment, "happy bird-day to you" from the old SAB set Love Ya Bunches, and it worked perfect along the branch. (see the card on the left) Each card uses Sale~A~Bration paper and ribbon along with the coordinating colors - Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and So Saffron...perfect for spring! Speaking of spring...the past couple days have been absolutely gorgeous! It's been hard to stay indoors. But today it's supposed to rain, so I think I'll get some stamping projects finished. More Cheep Talk...

Here's another card I made the other night with the Cheep Talk set. I just love that little bird! I also love how the verses curve around the tree branch. As you can see, this one uses bright, cheery colors.

I also used the new wheel that matches the Always stamp set...Always in Bloom. I LOVE this wheel, and cannot stop using it!

Hello there!

The Cheep Talk set is totally different from most sets I am drawn to. I think it is the cute little birds and the curvy sayings that made me have to have it! Most of the cards I've seen done with this set so far have been done with really bright, bold colors; but since I already had the gorgeous Parisian Breeze papers out I decided to use those. I guess I'm in Spring mode...too bad our weather isn't following suit!I used the polka dotted paper strip like I would a piece of ribbon...too bad it can't be tied into a nice bow! Wouldn't it make the cutest ribbon? The body of the little bird and his wing are cut out separately and attached with pop dots.
