Blackberry Butterfly

To me, a beautiful butterfly created with various shades of purple = LOVE. Can you believe that at first look through the new catalog I foolishly thought I didn't need the Watercolor Wings stamp set!? (somehow it still landed on my 1st order!) I'm so glad it did,  because it truly does make creating beautiful cards so easy! This was one of the cards we made at my recent All Occasions Card Class.

The butterfly is stamped in three layers to get this pretty, water colored look...but since the stamp set is Photopolymer it is very easy to line each layer up. The first layer is the lightest and stamped in Perfect Plum. The second layer is Rich Razzleberry and the third and final layer is Blackberry Bliss. This stamp set is more fun because there is also a coordinating set of framelits...which I also used here.

The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Happy Birthday Everyone stamp set and can be yours as part of the Host Rewards when hosting a workshop or placing a qualifying order. Contact me to find out more...

The gorgeous Tip Top Taupe Dotted Lace Trim adds a beautiful accent to finish off the card.

Thanks for visiting today...have a beautiful weekend!

Woodland Vintage Leaves

This is one of the cards we made at my recent All Occasions Card Class.

The beautiful Woodland Embossing Folder takes center stage and a leaf from the Vintage Leaves set is strung on some Linen Thread for an accent.

The burlap strip stamp from Awesomely Artistic adds some texture. This is a nice masculine card that could be used for any occasion by simply changing the sentiment.

Witches' Night Trick or Treat

This fun Halloween card uses several new items available from the Holiday Catalog. The Witches' Night stamp set along with Black Glimmer Paper and a Spider Web Doily.

The Black Glimmer Paper is just gorgeous...so much sparkle, I love it! The Spider Web Doilies are fun too! They were actually one of the things I was most excited about when I first looked through the Holiday catalog!

The Witches' Night stamp set is really nice too...I love that it coordinates with the Lots of Labels Framelits and that in addition to the 2 large images, it includes 3 background designs as well. I used the spider web and the zig-zag diamond patterned stamps on my card, but there is also one with bats.

The main image was sponged with Tangerine Tango and Rich Razzleberry. You cannot really tell from my photo, but the raven was cut out and embossed with clear for some extra shine.

Hope your day is filled with treats...and not tricks!

Vintage Leaves Birthday

The Vintage Leaves set combined with the Hardwood background stamp make an awesome combo to create masculine cards, like this birthday card...

The edges are sponged with Early Espresso ink for a more rustic look and to help the main Crumb Cake layer stand out more from the base which is also Crumb Cake. The green I used here is Mossy Meadow.

I love the realistic leaves in this set which is just perfect for this time of year! I still have a few of my Golden Vintage Leaves kits left to create the fall themed canvas and home decor accessories, as shown below. Get all the details in this post.

Watermelon Watercolor Wings

The pretty stamped and die cut butterfly created using the Watercolor Wings stamp set and coordinating Bold Butterfly Framelits takes center stage on this quick and easy card.

I played with this set, having fun stamping all all sorts of color combos...so I am not entirely sure what colors I used here....but I'm guessing Watercolor Wonder, Rich Razzleberry and maybe Calypso Coral.

The Watercolor Wonder Dotted Lace Trim and some Basic Rhinestones add the finishing touches.

Thanks for visiting today.

Vintage Leaves Thanks

Autumn is coming...(I like the sound of that better than "Winter is coming.") This week we've been blessed with a few more warm & sunny 80 degree days, but it sure has been getting chilly at night! We only have a few trees just starting to change color, but soon our maple trees will be the gorgeous hues of Delightful Dijon, Tangerine Tango and Cherry Cobbler as shown below.

After embossing the maple leaf from Vintage Leaves in white I sponged on the ink colors listed above. The background got the same treatment with the addition of some texture from Gorgeous Grunge. The pattern from the Boho Chic Embossing Folder along with the Natural Chevron Ribbon remind me of fall sweater textures so I thought they were a good fit for this fall inspired card.

Vintage Wilderness

I just LOVE this cute little fox from The Wilderness Awaits set! I've paired it up here with an equally great set, Vintage Leaves, for a masculine birthday card.

I created a tutorial a while back detailing step by step how I water colored this little guy and created the background using the Brick Wall Embossing Folder. There's a link on my sidebar or here if you would like more info. My latest tutorial features home decor projects using the Vintage Leave set...you may want to check that one out as well.

Golden Vintage Leaves Set

I really cannot believe that we are already more than a week into September! School is back in session and soon fall will be here. During this past month, even though the weather has been warm, it has already seemed like fall in my studio. That's because I've been busy creating a home decor set which is just perfect for the upcoming season. I'm so excited to finally be able to share it with you!

My autumn themed coordinating set combines elegant metallic gold with the rustic textures of wood and burlap. Add in a mixture of lifelike autumn leaves created using the Vintage Leaves stamp set and Leaflets Framelits and you have a stunning set perfect for fall decorating.

Thanksgiving is coming up and these pieces work well together or can be used as individual gifts…especially the wine bottle tag. The other pieces in this set include a decorated mason jar painted with chalk paint; perfect to hold the realistic looking oak branch. An 8 x 8 canvas ready to display your favorite autumn photo and a candle wrap with coordinating mat to dress up your battery operated candle.

Golden Vintage Leaves PDF Tutorial
This includes the full 16 page, step by step tutorial. Emailed to you for $6.99. After receiving payment, I will send the PDF file to the email provided with your PayPal payment. I usually check my email a few times daily, but please allow up to 24 hours for delivery to your inbox.
Please note: To complete the set as shown above, you will need the Vintage Leaves Bundle (Vintage Leaves stamp set and Leaflets Framelits), the Hardwood background stamp, ink pads, heat tool, pint sized Mason jar, battery operated candle along with adhesive (a glue gun is helpful, but not necessary.) and other basic stamping tools. Sorry... but wine also not included. ;-)

Cozy Christmas Ornament

I absolutely love the beautiful, intricate detail of the new Delicate Ornament Thinlits Dies...especially when cutting the foil papers! Here I've paired it with the Home For Christmas DSP and the Cozy Christmas stamp set.

I really like all the patterns in the Home For Christmas DSP pack because there are classic foliage patterns as shown here along with absolutely darling vintage patterns including adorable fawns that look like Bambi, cute Santas and more...cannot wait to work with these papers some more!

On the center of the ornament is one of the new Iced Rhinestone Embellishments. They are really pretty! You get two sizes, and I used the smaller one here. The die cut ornaments are a great size to use for gift tags...which I am planning to do.

Have a GREAT weekend!

A Little Something Tree

I finally got my Holiday Catalog pre-order last week, but every little bit of stamping time I've had recently has been working on some projects for an upcoming tutorial. I can't wait to share that with you! But for now here is a card that I sneaked in...

I was super excited to try this cool new Woodland Embossing Folder! There is a stamp set that coordinates with it, (it even comes in a bundle) but I had so many other great new things on my order that I had to take the stamp set off my list or break my stampin' budget. Luckily the Square Pillow Box Thinlit Die has some adorable little accessory dies that comes with it...including the leaves that I used here.

I sponged the trees and the leaves with a Sponge Dauber. The "Thinking of You" sentiment is from the A Little Something stamp set, which coordinates with the Pillow Box Die. The die set also includes the square label that the sentiment is on...there is a larger size as well, enabling you to cut a window in the pillow box if desired and to create tags as well.

The ribbon is the backside of the Natural Chevron Ribbon layered with Gold Sequin Trim.

Tomorrow is September 1st...hard to believe! It is the start of the Holiday Catalog...and you are going to love what is available!

Inspirational Watercolor Wings

I'm really loving the new thicker weight Whisper White card stock. It worked great for this watercolor background technique even when spritzing with water.

I used Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo & Tangerine Tango for the Watercolor Wings butterfly and to ink the largest SU! acrylic block for the background as well. If you want to learn more about this technique I describe it step by step in this post.

I spritzed the butterfly with some Shimmer Mist for a bit of sparkle...it looks so pretty when the light hits it.

Have a great weekend!

Dragonfly Birthday

Recently my Mom asked me if I could make her a dragonfly birthday card. She makes beautiful quilts, purses and tote bags and she had made a bag for a gift. I asked her for some of the fabric so that I could try to match the colors. Here was my inspiration.

This is the card I created for her using the Awesomely Artistic stamp set.

To match the colors as best possible, I had to pull out some retired purples to create the background. I used the largest SU! Clear Mount Block F and inked it with the following colors: Bermuda Bay, Pear Pizzazz, Orchid Opulence, Lavender Lace and Melon Mambo. After spritzing it with water I inked my Whisper White card stock. I added some splotches in various colors used above while the card stock was still damp, so the colors would bleed.

After it thoroughly dried, I added the dragonflies and the floral design. If you want to see more detailed directions on this technique, I provided them here on this post.
