House of Haunts Sketch Challenge

I was so happy to see that Beate is back posting on her blog again after enjoying a wonderful summer with her family. She always provides such great inspiration - not only with her fun challenges but with all the amazing cards and pages she posts. She has a really fun sketch up as her first Weekend Sketch Challenge, so luckily I found some time to play along.

I've been wanting to use my new House of Haunts set and of course my new Big Shot, I figured this sketch was perfect for both.

I stamped the haunted house image on Glossy Card stock using Black Stazon ink. Then I sponged on the color starting with the moon. I punched out a circle from a post it note and I used that to mask the moon. (I think it was a 1" circle but don't feel like running to check right now) For the large jagged edge circle I used the largest Bigz Scallop die - fed thru the Big Shot twice. Cut out your scallop like you normally would, then line up your punched scallop onto the die so that it is off set. Then run thru again and you get a jagged edge - the perfect look for Halloween projects!

I love the spooky tree image with the owl in it, (also included in this set) so I decided to ink up the owl and one branch with my marker and add it to the Happy Halloween greeting. I couldn't use this new set and not also use the matching Haunting wheel, now could I? I just love the creepy trick or treaters shown on this wheel! I can't wait to get my hands on the Frightful Fence jumbo wheel shown in the Holiday Mini too. I have so many Halloween photos to scrapbook that I'm sure both of these wheels will get lots of use!

Stamps: House of Haunts, Haunting jumbo wheel
Ink: Black Stazon, Perfect Plum, various others for sponging
Card stock: Tangerine Tango, Basic Black, Perfect Plum & Kiwi Kiss
Accessories: Vintage brads, Bigz Scallop, Photo Corner & Ticket Corner punches

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!
